A lot has happened in the last two years. The world’s population has exceeded seven billion and more than 10% of it is using Facebook. Eurozone debt has topped €10 trillion, and one of the so-called ‘emerging’ markets – Brazil – now has a bigger economy than the UK. London is still a global media hub, if no longer home to, ‘The News of the World.’
2012 will be a big year as we celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee and the world’s greatest sporting event, but the critical question is will the UK and European psyches respond to the Olympic motto of Citius, Altius, Fortius – Swifter, Higher, Stronger?
The transition to the digital age is causing many disruptions, but I’m in no doubt this is probably the most exciting time to be a communications professional since TV changed everything in the 1960s. We no longer live in a broadcast age, but instead an environment where managing information, understanding influence and participating in the right conversations will become the acid test for every organisation.
It has been an exciting time to start a business and embrace the opportunities of the dialogue age. We celebrate our second birthday in April, and although we’re still in our infancy, our structured methodologies and insights and data driven approach is enabling us to take purposeful steps forward. We have recently moved to new offices in the heart of Covent Garden and welcome to our new website – we hope it will give you a feel for who we are and what we do.
On our door is the number 42 – which each day reminds me of ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ series of books by Douglas Adams. 42 is supposedly the answer to ‘Life, The Universe and Everything .‘
