Following multiple acquisitions and the departure of a CEO who had created a culture of fear, leading to a surge of negative reviews on Glassdoor, Navico’s new CEO faced a critical need to rebuild trust and transform the company’s internal environment. His main objectives were to break down silos, encourage collaboration, and establish trust with a globally dispersed workforce. The previous leadership had left morale low, and the company needed to address both internal dissatisfaction and external perceptions to restore confidence in the business.
We developed a comprehensive 100-day global communications plan to onboard the new CEO and created an ongoing internal communications and leadership profiling program. The strategy centered on making the CEO visible and accessible while ensuring transparency in company performance. We supported these efforts through external communications designed to rebuild trust in the Navico brand and position the company as an attractive place to work. Our approach included curating content for a monthly newsletter, revamping employee onboarding materials, creating a new content hub, and boosting Yammer engagement. We also established guidelines for consistent local communications.
The first edition of the newsletter received over 50 personal replies, welcoming the new content and signalling positive employee engagement. Employees interacted with the newsletter an average of 2-3 times each, showing sustained interest. In addition, Yammer engagement increased by 25%, fostering better communication across teams. Perhaps most notably, the CEO’s approval rating on Glassdoor rose to 89%, reflecting the success of the communication strategy in reshaping company culture and restoring trust among the workforce.
